How to Invest your Superannuation

How you can invest your superannuation in to Third Link Growth Fund

Directly
The Third Link Growth Fund is available to investors who manage their own superannuation fund (SMSF), subject to meeting their fund’s objectives and the minimum investment criteria for the Third Link Growth Fund.

You may wish to discuss this with your financial advisor prior to making any decisions.

Via BT
BT may also be able to provide superannuation and general investors with financial services that will provide a method of investing in the Third Link Growth Fund via their administrative platform. For further details on those services please contact your financial advisor or visit www.bt.com.au.

BT will be donating to charity their portion of the account keeping fee that will be charged on holdings of the Third Link Growth Fund via the applicable BT platforms.

Quoting a Tax File Number

You can decide whether you wish to quote your TFN / ABN on your Application Form. If you choose not to the Responsible Entity, Bennelong Funds Management Limited (BFML), may be required to withhold or deduct tax from your income distributions at the highest marginal tax rate, plus the Medicare levy.

Incomplete or Rejected Application Form

If your application is incomplete, the application money will be retained in a non-interest bearing bank account until Citi Unit Registry Australia receives the required information. Application money may be held for up to 30 days, commencing from when the money was received. After this time, the money will be returned to the original source of payment.

Third Link Investment Managers and Bennelong Funds Management Limited has complete discretion on whether to accept or reject applications in part or in full and is not required to give any reason or grounds for such a refusal.

No interest will be paid on application monies returned.

Withdrawals

You may decrease your investment in the Fund by making a request to withdraw units. The minimum amount you can withdraw is $20,000, or the balance of your account if it is less than $20,000. If a withdrawal request would result in the value of your remaining investment being less than $20,000, we may treat your request as being for the whole amount of your investment in the Fund. We will contact you first in such situations. We reserve the right to vary the minimum withdrawal amount or minimum account balance at our absolute discretion.

We may also compulsorily withdraw your investment if any of the following circumstances occur:

  • where we suspect the law prohibits you from being an investor in the Fund;
  • if you become a non-resident of Australia for tax purposes;
  • as otherwise permitted by the Fund’s constitution;
  • if the investor has breached it’s obligations to BFML; or
  • to satisfy any amount due to us by you or that we owe  someone else relating to you (for example to the tax office).

Withdrawal requests can be faxed direct to Citi Unit Registry Australia (without the need for an original) as long as the bank account details for the proceeds are not changing from those kept on file.

Withdrawal requests that require new banking details to be received, an original instruction via post is required.  The hard copy must be received by Citi Unit Registry Australia prior to the ten day notice period.

Withdrawal requests must be validly signed and include the Fund name, your investor account ID, the amount to be withdrawn (or number of units), bank account details for the payment of the withdrawal amount, and a phone number where we can contact you during business hours in case we need to ask you any questions about your request.

Withdrawal requests received before 3.00pm AEST on a day that is 10 clear business days before the end of a month will be processed using the unit price calculated at the end of that month. If a withdrawal request is received after that, the request will be processed using the unit price calculated at the end of the following month.

There may be circumstances where your ability to withdraw from the Fund is restricted and you may have to wait a period of time before you can redeem your investment, for example, where we consider it is not reasonably practicable to dispose of assets to determine a unit price or where the Fund becomes illiquid.

Please contact us on 1300 793 855 or by email at enquiries@thirdlink.com.au should you require further information.
